Glasgow is a city with a lot of transport infrastructure, including motorways, rail and an extensive bus network, and now has a slowly expanding cycle network.
There are National Cycle Network routes into the city, and various local routes have also been provided for cyclists around the city. These routes vary from off-road cycle paths, through quiet street routes and on-road cycle lanes, to fully segregated roadside cycle tracks, "Copenhagen style" as Glasgow City Council likes to put it! Advance Stop Lines have been provided at a number of signal-controlled junctions. However, there are still areas of the city with little in the way of cycle infrastructure.
The local cycle campaign group in Glasgow is Go Bike! Strathclyde Cycle Campaign, which works to try and improve the provision for cyclists, both on-road and off. Go Bike has produced its own paper cycle map, which not only shows the signed cycle routes, but also many suggested quiet road routes for linking across the city. Details on the website.

Having been prevented from going into Richmond Park by the housing construction, path users now have no option but to use the steps up to Shawfield Drive.
NCN756 blocked off at Richmond Park, part of which has been sold off for a housing development. The path to the left leads to a flight of steps.
The path beyond the fence in #95371 has already been built, but isn't being maintained since it is within a construction site.
The path into Richmond Park doesn't actually connect to the main part of the path at the moment due to further house building.
The layout entering Oatlands Square. Lots of signs and posts, but an attractive path through the middle.

The cycle parking stands outside the Kelvin Hall are hopeless and need replaced. Bolting stands onto block paving is not sufficiently secure in a street environment. See also #95251.
Just a small sign away from the main line of sight to warn of the cycle track crossing the access road to the Bunhouse Car Park, and no indication of priority.
The Fastlink busway was built without any dropped kerbs outside the Festival Park gate, hindering cycle access between the Science Centre and Festival Park. The footway here is to be converted to shared use.
Not a dual carriageway, but two parallel two-way roads, the nearest of which is reserved for buses only. The footway on this side is to be converted (or just redesignated?) for shared use.
The northern footway of Govan Road being rebuilt for shared use, with some low branches coming over the wall from the park.
Corduroy tactiles were specified in the drawings and corduroy tactiles were duly installed, rather than cycleway tactiles.
The surface on the cycleway is the same shiny smooth asphalt used on the footway. Not good for grip.
Dropped kerbs have been installed at the access to the Village development (rectifying #71113), but that footway next to the stepped cycleway is so narrow!
When this area at Partick station was repaved, I thought it might be getting prepared for the installation of the large double decker bike racks, given the congestion on the existing cycle parking. But no, it has been getting used for car p ... [more]
Settlement at the south end of the flagship active travel bridge across the Clydeside Expressway at the Glasgow Harbour development.
Still no sign as to whether this widened footway is shared use or not, now that the one-way carriageway is unusable for cycling in the other direction. However, there is this parking sign where no parking is allowed.
Broken asphalt on the route the Kelvingrove Art Gallery boss preferred cyclists to take rather than the more obvious route through the car park.
It turns out bolting cycle parking stands to block paving isn't very secure. Who knew? See also #95296.
Bus lane cameras. Will there be cycle lane cameras? A stepped two-way cycle track is being built along part of Govan Road, but the footway has been reduced to a minimal width, resulting in people walking on the cycle track. An extra metr ... [more]
Building works at Partick Bus Station have meant that the point where cyclists join Merkland St carriageway has now been closed, and cyclists are forced to share a narrow footway already obstructed by (unrelated) scaffolding. However, t ... [more]
Building work has now started at Partick Bus Station, resulting in railings being put across the point where it was easy to join the roadway in Merkland Street (see also #94587). Work is to last 9 months. http://www.spt.co.uk/2017/09/red ... [more]

West City Way, Glasgow. Flagship cycling infrastructure. Dismount and use pavement. Pathetic. https://t.co/wU0gexsvJZ [See also #93831]
This puddle gets splashed off the side of the bridge and onto unsuspecting underpass users by passing vehicles.
The bins seem to have gone, but more bike parking is still needed in Cambridge Street. One bike looked like it was abandoned. This will be an important parking location for anyone new to cycling when the Woodside mini-Holland is built.

Told by council that there's no room for cycle infra here on Pollokshaws Rd. There's space. There isn't the will. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/0neB62T0Cv
This kind of (relatively) cheap and quick infrastructure would help so much in so many places... more please #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/dcsPJRxYNB
Biggest problem cycling in the city centre is you're only ever seconds away from being on the right of a 4-lane road #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/OIH1RcLmyZ
Waterloo St looks nice, but the traffic light phases are just wrong and you end up waiting at every junction. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/zC3MnKHLS8
... it's just a shame that the Bridge to Nowhere is once again living up to its name. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 #GetOffAndWalk https://t.co/3XpPXrlJGy
Bell's Bridge could do with a wider path on the north end, but it is lovely to cycle on. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/R3RWlYZqz6
More barriers on NCN7 making it awkward for anybody with mobility issues, trailer, etc to use it. (Pacific Drive) #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/xrH2OHTrNt
More wasted space for empty Fastlink lanes on Pacific Drive whilst NCN7 is confined to a shared path. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/sz4iIpjQ0x
Usual parking at Govan Rd cycle lane. On one side it's a door zone I'd never use, on the other they just park on it. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/OdEKkHaq0C
On the plus side, a while since I cycled on Cessnock St... so glad to see it's now a little less potholed! :) #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/neb3xkZPoB
Back on the north of the M8, NCN7 reverts to blue signs over infra... and conflict with drivers assuming priority. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/FnqH1cQrq3
this sign continuing NCR7 towards Balloch near the Riverside Museum is very craftily hidden behind copious greenery #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/7UOL2UFpqv
Again as NCN7 crosses the M8 the simplest answer to potential conflict is to force cyclists to walk. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/zLBKWT1I27
And too often, when NCN7 threatens to interfere with motor traffic, it's "cyclists dismount". #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/ZAzVGKl6vd
This alternative route to direct PRW relies heavily on blue signs instead of safe infrastructure. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/1S3RVH3vUF
Also NCN7 is lacking some basic infra on crossings - why no Toucan across Corkerhill Rd? #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/2jKrrFISy0
Since posting this, I've been informed of the correct route using Kinnell Avenue. VERY poor signage. Mosspark Dr is hectic at rush hour #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/1DBKMerLHc
Nice little contra flow back on to PRW from NCN7... except it had a van parked in it whilst the driver ate lunch. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/dP5Az8iU80
Follow the path to the right to take NCN7 all the way to Bell's Bridge... but don't try it in the dark! #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/O1gvhqCDFe
Take the bridge towards Pollok Park... providing you don't have mobility issues, a trailer, etc. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/LLZxVWKion
Instead of the direct PRW, council would prefer cyclists use the quieter route following NCN7 #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/jNLcWpRARp
As with PRW, Crookston Road is wide enough for good infrastructure and has nothing. Such a waste. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/xpqbxEHepv
Stats show how many cycle on Paisley Road West. Wide enough for good infrastructure... completely devoid of any. #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/I54olBeTir
Always saddens me that this was allowed to happen. Could have really been something... #GlasgowCycleInfraDay17 https://t.co/MV0iXZCy4A
