It must be a cycle path if it has a barrier across it. Ah, but it leads to a pedestrian crossing, not a toucan crossing, and the path on the other side does not align with the crossing.

I noticed while waiting that a number of vehicles were driven over the crossing while the green man was being displayed.

A walking route is signed to the city centre via Polmadie Road. It might be quicker walking along Aikenhead Road.
