The pedestrian crossings form part of the original Glasgow to Paisley cycle route, opened by Cllr Charlie Gordon back in 1993. This section is part of one of the many 'Cyclists Dismount' sections, and it remains so to this day.
Nowadays, NCN routes 7 and 75 bypass this section, but it remains an important link for getting to Bellahouston Park.
