The footway of Castlebank Street has been marked as a cycle route in OpenStreetMap, but there is no evidence to say so on the ground. However, it is a gap in the network, more direct and smoother in surface than the parallel NCN7 route, about the same width as many shared-use paths, alongside a hostile road for cycling on, and sees regular cycle traffic.
