The Sawmill Road junction used to have the cycle path on a former railway bridge over the top of the road, but now that has been demolished, the cycle route is on the South Street shared footway to the right.
The footway on this side resumes for the junction, with an uncontrolled crossing and traffic island. The site beyond the junction is being redeveloped for a drive-through coffee shop.
