[Image taken 8.7.22] Parliament Street, York. The cycle parking in York centre moves. If there is an event on or an ‘attraction’ such as a merry go round, the racks are relocated. This is stressful and definitely not conducive to encouraging people to start cycling or supportive for those who already do. This location is completely new for these Sheffield racks. This worked for me – I usually have to resort to leaning my cycle against the plate glass of the building I'm visiting. But you need to lift your cycle up the kerb and then once, twice, over the upstand of the linking rails (a negative trait of toastracks). My cycle won’t straddle this width so in addition to needing to lift it six times simply to access/leave the rack, I had to wrestle with it to keep it upright and to be able to position it to be able to lock it. Other image today: #184217.
