The A814 alongside HMNB Clyde
Location: Faslane Port (Scotland, United Kingdom)
The path on the left is a shared use foot-and-cycle path but at this time on a Sunday morning it's more convenient to use the road. In fact, its poor quality surface means its more convenient at any time. It was dry at this point but about 30 mins later the rain began.
[AP: I don't blame the original poster for being mistaken because this cycle route hops on and off of the footway many times, but the cycle route is on-road at this point, and goes onto the footway at the shared-use sign in the distance.]
