The application for Sustrans Community Links funding mentioned the Springburn Expressway having "a very wide (up to 6 metres) footpath". However, in places it is quite narrow, and at this bus shelter in particular there is plenty of room to widen it.

Title
Springburn Road path redetermination. design and construct
Application description
This project consists of a path redetermination to allow use by cyclists and the implementation of associated Toucan Crossings.Springburn Road between St Rollox Brae (Tesco's) and Atlas Road comprises of a very wide (up to 6 metres) footpath, of which part is designated as a Core Path. With ample space, a shared use path (potentially delineated) could give a provision for cyclists between the Springburn shops and the city centre (using the existing links south of St. Rollox Brae). Improvement of the junctions with Petershill road and Atlas Road, including toucanisation, will make this a continuous route.
