I guess they thought this old piece of path would be acceptable within this huge motorway building project.

If someone ever did shut this gate properly and someone in a wheelchair needed to open it, it would be extremely difficult to do so due to the area around the latch being unsurfaced. The gate effectively separates one housing area from the path to another. This isn't on a farm!
