An astonishingly long-lasting piece of Strathclyde Regional Council artwork remaining at the Clyde Tunnel entrance.
Not as bad as #173674, but all the signs that this will be yet another unpleasant autumn and winter for users of the cycle off-slip from Balshagray Avenue.
In need of some basic maintenance, overhanging branches and unswept surface on the cycle off-slip from Balshagray Avenue.
There used to be a sign advising any cyclists on the westbound Clydeside Expressway that they needed to leave at this junction in order to access the Clyde Tunnel (due to the ban on cycling through the main Clyde Tunnel carriageways). … [more]
The footway is meant to be shared-use, but is not signed as such, and is covered in debris from the disintegrating road surface. This provides a cycle route between the Clyde Tunnel and some entrances to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
Pedantic signage for the Clyde Tunnel northbound entrance and southbound exit. Why sign the exit from here?
The kind of dropped kerb that really needs nibbed to protect it from car parking. The kerb across the road is completely blocked. On this side of Holmfauldhead Place a shared-use footway has been created between this dropped kerb and the … [more]
The exit from the southbound pedestrian/cycle Clyde Tunnel. Although each tunnel is one-way for cycles, pedestrians can use either tunnel in either directions. How are pedestrians entering here expected to know about the possibility of … [more]
A very old blue-bordered cycle route sign on Broomhill Drive. There are no further signs on this route because it is the last in a series of signs for various destinations around the Clydeside Expressway's Clyde Tunnel junction, including … [more]
Roadworks blocking most of the shared footway on Smith Street, but no dropped kerb to join the carriageway of this quiet street. No provision for left turns into Northinch Street either.
The speed limit for cycling in the Clyde Tunnel is displayed as 5 miles per hour. This is less than the former minimum speed restriction for motorists in the tunnel upstairs of 8mph!
There are intercom panels next to the former stairwells in the Clyde Tunnel, in addition to those at the entrances and exits.
The approach to the Clyde Tunnel cycle tunnel entrance from Holmfauld Place, with no dropped kerb for anyone that missed the dropped kerb in #99461.
When I turned into Holmfauld Place from Govan Road I noticed a white line on the footway. On investigation, it turns out the only way onto this shared cycleway is via the dropped kerb next to the black car.
Signage for the Clyde Tunnel at the underpass in Burghead Drive. I'm not sure that's the way I'd walk to any of the destinations shown to the left.
The cycleway from the Clyde Tunnel has been blocked by a damaged guardrail. The CCTV coverage does not appear to have led to a speedy repair. The cube sign gives directions that are different from the green sign below it.
No dropped kerb to join the cycle track if coming from the underpass. Location: Victoria Park, Glasgow (Scotland, United Kingdom)
@GlasgowCC response to poorly maintained #clydetunnel surface and accidents: put up 5mph speed limit!! http://t.co/pgcQoNxOxD
Entry 2 for #glasgowcycleinfraday. I fell off here a month ago. I reported. Nothing's been done. http://t.co/yybH3JIWHK
My first #glasgowcycleinfraday entry. A fantastic mini cyclocross cycle lane. http://t.co/VOU24I8Kg4
Entrance to southbound Clyde Tunnel cycle & pedestrian tunnel. Gates control access to try to prevent undesirables using the tunnel for hanging around in and vandalism. Users have to press button to get control room to open gate.
Sign at entrance to Balshagray Crescent, telling cyclists and pedestrians if southbound Clyde Tunnel is open or not. If not, sign directs users to the northbound tunnel.
Old Cyclists Dismount sign at entrance to underpass beneath Clydeside Expressway (other end at #36113)
Entrance to underpass beneath Clydeside Expressway in Balshagray Drive (other end at #36115). There is also a cycle sign for City Centre on the left.
Slip lane for cyclists leaving Balshagray Avenue going to Clyde Tunnel (cycles not allowed in main car tunnel), with plenty of tyre marks visible
Point where cycle track diverges from Clydeside Expressway at Clyde Tunnel junction. Cycle track heads north towards Jordanhill and cyclists going to Clyde Tunnel have to use underpasses beneath Balshagray Avenue and Clydeside Expressway to … [more]
