Active travel routes into and around Sighthill still closed. This is the path between Craighall Road and Sighthill, alongside the motorway.

The footway and crossings between Garscube Road and Cowcaddens, across and along Phoenix Road, have been shut as part of the M8 motorway viaduct repair work.

A large area has been taken for a works compound for the M8 motorway viaduct repair work. But the path between the Garscube Road footbridge and Braid Square is still open.

I don't think the replacement Sighthill Bridge will be opening in "the early months of 2022". https://www.glasgow.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=27331

The pedestrian crossings at Anderston Cross have been surrounded by hoardings, making sightlines rather poor.

Painted bollards at Anderston Cross.

The paintwork at Anderston Cross, before it was hidden by lots of barricades.

Freshly painted Advance Stop Lines at Anderston Cross, but none at the second stop lines under the motorway bridge.

Temporary closure of the path east of the Phoenix Road underpass for work on the crumbling motorway flyover. The Colleges Cycle Route is not affected at this stage.

The area under the M8 motorway at Anderston Cross is being painted fancy colours a couple of months before the COP26 conference hits town. The area outside the station frequently resembles a car park.

Still plenty to do to connect up the replacement bridge across the M8 motorway between Townhead and Sighthill.

The replacement Sighthill footbridge is now in place across the M8 motorway. See also #172744.

The pedestrian crossings form part of the original Glasgow to Paisley cycle route, opened by Cllr Charlie Gordon back in 1993. This section is part of one of the many 'Cyclists Dismount' sections, and it remains so to this day. Nowadays, ... [more]

The sign back at #170595 should have warned that this left turn is directly onto the M8 motorway.

The sign should really mention that motorway regulations begin immediately on the road with the motorway numbers all in brackets. This is a sliproad directly onto the eastbound M8 motorway, see #170597.

The signs at the foot of the footbridge connecting the two parts of Beech Avenue across the M8 motorway. The direction sign is obscured by tree braches, and not visible if following the original Paisley to Glasgow cycle route (an important ... [more]

Path under the M8 motorway.

Collapsing and muddy tactile paving at the M8 on-slip toucan crossing at Craighall Road.

Ramp at the MacLellan Street side of footbridge, but there are steps at the Clifford Street side.

It's clear here what the transport priorities are when there are steps at one side of this footbridge.

Once up the steps from Clifford Street, the rest of the motorway footbridge is step-free.

Shallow steps leading to motorway footbridge at Clifford Street that could be replaced by a proper ramp. The same problem as the other access at #152263.

A footbridge across the M8 motorway, connecting Queenslie Industrial Estate and Garthamlock.

'Cyclists Dismount' at the footbridge across the motorway connecting Queenslie Industrial Estate and the Fort shopping centre.

Ramped access to the underpass under the M8, linking Barfillan Drive and Jura Street to Craigton Road. This is the nearest dropped kerb if coming from Jura Street. Lots of roadspace crying out for some reallocation to enable active travel.

Broken glass on the cyclepath under the Bredisholm Road bridge, next to the new M8 motorway.

A junction between a section of cyclepath alongside the M8 motorway and Bredisholm Road coming off its bridge over the motorway and A8 dual carriageway. If the intent was that cyclists would go to Bargeddie (and not straight ahead to Bailli ... [more]

If motorway regulations apply up to the sign, shouldn't there be a fence between the motorway and the path?

The start of the toucan crossing chain from the former Harry Ramsden's restaurant to the Paisley Road cycle track.

Toucan crossings over Paisley Road and the sliproad from Carnoustie Street, under the Kingston Bridge.

Hopefully the new cycle route proposed for Jura Street will fix the problem of the missing dropped kerb at the ramp up to the M8 motorway underpass.

Jura Street where a new cycle route is proposed linking the M8 motorway underpass to Bellahouston Park.

A new approach path to the M8 motorway underpass at the end of Craigton Road, arranged to dissuade obstructive parking, although this doesn't always work (see #102730).

The as yet unopened cycleway beneath the Bredisholm Road bridge, next to the M8 motorway. The path appears to be routed around a SUDS pond, after which it rejoins a position adjacent to the motorway. Not sure a road would be designed like t ... [more]

The as yet unopened cycleway beneath the Bredisholm Road bridge, next to the M8 motorway. Note that the signs at the junction with Brediholm Road are for destinations requiring a sharp turn and no destination is given for straight ahead.

To get from Vermont Street to Scotland Street involves going around the odd-shaped roundabout under the motorway, or hopping onto the footway, which as #70775 and #70773 show gets very narrow.

Clear & comforting signage for cyclists looking for that award winning bridge. #glasgowcycleinfraday http://t.co/D8poHQe95m
